    Garmin Recommendations

Hi! I'm new to SBRA. Grew up in Patchogue and family still lives there- so I hope to ride with the club when I am visiting them. I always bring my bike. I live in the Philly suburbs now.

Can you refer a mechanic to tension spokes on Zipp wheels?

The tension of my spokes on Zipp 404s are all over the place. Can anyone recommend a mechanic?

Can I use stock tires on new wheel set if size is same?

I bought new wheel set, Mavic Ksyrium Equipe. LOVE these wheels!!! They came with Mavic Yksion Comp tires...slicks for sure, max 131 psi. 700c x 23mm. I decided to get Continental GP 4 Season tires 700c x 23mm to change out the Mavic Comps after I s-s-s-slid to a stop after completing a ride when weather turned ugly and roads became wet. I think the Continentals are good choice for everyday/variable conditions. Until they arrive (ordered online) can I use the stock tires from my old wheels?

I roll slowly. Is it the fault of the hubs, spokes/rims, or tires?

    Hi Mechanics.

I have two different sets of wheels--Rolf Vectors and Mavic Cosmics--from about 1999. I notice that when I'm coasting downhill on a group ride, I coast a fair bit slower than pretty much everybody on the ride. I know my wheels are older than everyone else's, and were made with what would now be considered "inferior" materials (and probably design as well), but are my wheels' slowness due to the hubs, the spokes/rims, or the tires?

    Thanks

    Jerry
