The Early Birds are still starting at 8am till May 1st -- then it is 7:30am -- from King Kullen/Manorville. This is a "historic" SBRA ride, but not officially a club ride as there is no particular ride leader, the riders mostly know each other, know the route, show and go -- however new and experienced riders are welcome to join and give it a try. Typically 55 miles, one brief Deli/Coffee stop about half way and back at the parking after about 2h25 (if there is a big fast group this can happen and we average up to 23mph) but usually it is more around 20..21mph or about 2h40 moving time.
The early morning of Easter day started out with a wet chill in the air and foggy as you see in the movie. Water drops were building up quickly on the lens and also all the rider's glasses. But about half way it stared clearing up and turned into a beautiful day. Back home early enough to enjoy Easter day with family and friends.

...What a beautiful day for the last ride of "The Birds" today! Just a small group, but nice ride. Photo: Coffee stop at the Cutchogue Deli. Read more and watch a A+..AA pace video of Trevors ride...

Do you enjoy the more brisk days of riding and watching the beautiful colors of fall? Just dress right to match your riding level -- faster = less is better, just to stay warm and protect yourself from wind. You know you are perfectly dressed if you feel a bit chilly for the first few miles until warmed up!
Enjoy a few recent photos off fall weather riding. Here on left, high up in Connecticut on John&Py's 4th annual TOSREC.

Update: New RP2IPBP ride fall season start time from October is 9am.
What a beautiful day for Py's RP2IPBP ride, a chilly morning. A good sized group found together at Tildas last Saturday, Rocky Point (RP) and rolled out promptly by 8am with the chime of a close by clock tower -- one rider showed up just last minute as we almost attempted to cross the road at Tildas -- little chatting and off we go....

Little update on the Early Birds. This Sunday at least no rain, just some very little drizzel or fog at the first quarter of the ride.
A good sized group of about 20 riders gathered at the start, Manroville/King Kullen to get going by 7:30am. A nice paceline formed and moved out on the North Route into slight head wind.

What a beautiful day for Py's RP2IPBP ride. A good sized group found together at Tildas, Rocky Point (RP) and rolled out promptly
by 8am with the chime of a close by clock tower. A few rollers to warm up on North Country and in Wading River, quick reassembly on top (photo on left) and then a fast train moving towards East avoiding Sound Ave as much as possible, by taking Edwards - Youngs - Reeves - Doctors (south) - Northville - "The Tanks" Penny, Shore to the snack stop at Iron Pear Beach Park (IPBP).
